A Book You have recently read Paragraph: 1

Reading books is my passion. I recently read a book named “Pather Panchali.” It was written by the famous writer Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay. The novel is about a little village boy named Apu. The main characters of the book are Apu, Durga, Harihar, and Sarbajaya.

Harihar and Sarbajaya, a rustic couple, spend their days in miserable distress. But they dream of a rosy future. Apu and Durga are their children. Durga dies a premature death, which is a great shock to the family. One cannot help but shed tears when reading about the death of Apu’s dearest sister, Durga. The novel gives us a very vivid picture of the beauty of a remote village in Bengal. The story reminds us of the hardship faced by thousands of poor and helpless people in our country. It is truly an immortal creation of Bibhutibhushan Bandopadhyay.

I am an avid and voracious reader of books. I read all kinds of books that I come across. Recently, I read a most exciting and inspiring book named “Stop Worrying, Start Living,” written by the noted and renowned American writer Dale Carnegie. The book was so inspiring and motivating that I finished reading it in a single day. In the book, the writer emphasized and underlined the need to get rid of worrying, which is so common and a cause for most modern mortals.

According to the author, once we overcome our worries, we can have a fresh and new lease on life. In the book, the writer has given scores of examples where the conquerors of cares and anxieties have been able to live and lead a peaceful and purposeful life. The book has been a great lesson in the art of living for me as well. I would recommend everybody around me to go through the book. The writer made the book wonderful, and hundreds of hopeless people were helped by it in American society. I bet that anybody starting to read the book will find it a delightful and absorbing read.

A Book I Have Recently Read

On my last birthday, one of my relatives presented me with an attractive book named “Ramer Sumati,” written by Sarat Chandra Chattopadhyay. The book narrates the story of a joint family, and Ramlal, a boy, is the hero of the novel. Though Ramlal lost his mother when he was two and a half years old, he was not deprived of motherly affection as Narayani, his step elder brother Shyamlal’s wife, reared him as her own son. Ramlal was not only a naughty and unruly boy but also did mischief nearly all the time.

He had a constant companion, Bhola. Narayani worried about him as he was a terror to everyone in the village, but her fondness gave him constant protection. Thus, Narayani saved the family from division. The character of Ramlal attracts me the most. The special feature of the book is that Ramlal was, on one side, restless and did not care about anybody but his sister-in-law Narayani. He obeyed her like a gentle boy. When, at last, his elder brother divided the family wealth into two halves and forbade Narayani from speaking with him, Ramlal understood his folly and became normal. I like the novel because, from the beginning, I liked Ramlal, and at the end, he transformed into a polite boy.

Reading Book is my hobby. And the book I have recently read is “Strong Roots,” written by Abdul Kalam. On my last birthday, one of my relatives gave me this interesting book. It is an autobiography that tells about Kalam’s early life and the important things that shaped his character and future. It shows his humble beginnings, the values his parents taught him, and the key moments that helped him become a famous scientist and the President of India.

The story describes his childhood in Rameswaram, a small town in Tamil Nadu. Despite many challenges, Kalam’s hard work and dedication are evident throughout the book. One special feature of “Strong Roots” is how it shows the simple and honest life of Kalam’s family. His father’s wisdom, his mother’s kindness, and the harmony in his village were very important in his growth.

I am most attracted to the character of young Kalam. His curiosity, humility, and determination are inspiring. I like the book because it not only tells about his early struggles and achievements but also highlights the importance of strong moral values and resilience. The transformation of Kalam from a curious boy to a visionary leader is both captivating and motivational.
